Head of Customer Marketing Middle East & Europe, Diageo
The only member of the crew without a military background and measuring just shy of 6ft! Ollie is determined to show that anyone can achieve anything if they put their mind to it.
Ollie can’t sit still and has a passion for the outdoors, the challenge to row 3000 miles with some of his closest/ tallest friends seemed like a no brainer. He hopes this is the first of many challenges!
Trainee Surveyor at JLL, former Royal Navy Mine Clearance Diving Officer
Tom enjoys pushing himself physically and mentally competing in Ironmen during spare time. Tom is studying part-time towards a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Management.
Having spent over eight years in the Royal Navy, Tom has crossed the Atlantic on warships so appreciates the storms and seasickness the team will face. Tom believes that careful preparation, teamwork, dedication and optimism are foundations for completing this challenge. He hopes to motivate young people to achieve their aims by promoting these values, including his younger brother and sister.
Sport Sponsorship Consultant at TRM, former Parachute Regiment Officer
Hugh has always had a real taste for adventure, this led him to travel the world with the Parachute Regiment and undertake some of the most gruelling military tests. He excelled in these environments and when not jumping out of planes, dedicated himself to competing in long-distance military endurance competitions.
Hugh is a passionate believer in using sport to make a difference. Numerous fundraising challenges while in the Army have inspired him to take on this far larger challenge. Hugh is most excited about being over 1,000 miles from land, completely disconnected from the outside world.
Royal Marines Commando Officer
Born and raised in Bristol, where he met Tom and Ollie. Max completed a BSc Psychology at University of Nottingham, where he met Hugh and lived with Tom.
A passionate sportsman having been a Bristol RFC Academy player and represented the Royal Navy at rugby, boxing and bobsleigh.
Excited to share this challenge against significant adversity with his close friends; and hopefully inspire the WLZ children to do the same!
